The High Commission of the Republic of Zambia in India has appointed Nepali businessman Desh Bandhu Basnet as Zambia's honorary consul in Nepal.
The appointment was announced by Judith KK Kan'goma Kapijimpanga, the ambassador of Zambia to India, in a ceremony held in the embassy.
The ambassador handed over the letter of commission, national flag, and the seal of the office to Basnet, as per a media release.
The appointment aims to promote and strengthening bilateral relations between Nepal and Zambia as well as in trade, investment, tourism, culture, and tourism, contributing to the development of the two countries' strategic partnership.
Basnet is an engineer by education and an entrepreneur by profession who took over the charge of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry as executive committee member and chairperson of bi-national NRN coordinator.
