KATHMANDU: Bottlers Nepal Limited, a franchise of Coca-Cola company has adopted the tagline ‘Rangaon harpal Mann Kholera’ for Fanta, a cold drink with vibrant fun brand image. Along with the new tagline, Fanta also has the advertisements attempt to bring the colour of fun into the lives of every teenagers around the globe. — HNS
US unveils new $50 note
KATHMANDU: The US unveiled a new $50 note design with enhanced security features, and subtle background colours of blue and red, states a press statement issued here by Embassy of the United States on Monday. According to the statement, the new note reflects the images of a waving American flag and a small metallic silver blue star. The $50 note will be followed later by a new $100 note. Decisions on new designs for the $5 and $10 notes are still under consideration, but a redesign of the $1 and $2 notes is not planned, states the release. — HNS
Birat festival on anvil
BIRATNAGAR: Ministry of industry, commerce and supplies, Export Promotion Board, Kathmandu and Morang district branch of cottage and small industries association are jointly organising ‘Birat festival 2004, cottage industries trade fair’ from April 27. There will be 61 stalls where handicraft items, leather goods, khukuris and other products of the cottage industries of the eastern region will be showcased. — RSS
NFDB body revamp hailed
KATHMANDU: Nepal Motion Pictures Production Association has expressed hearty acknowledgment to the government for reshuffling the working committee of Nepal Film Development Board (NFDB) that was without office bearers for the last 19 months. The association has expressed hope that the committee would be able to provide new dimensions in the development of Nepali motion pictures.— RSS
Ceramic training starts
BHAKTAPUR: A six-month long ceramic training organised by Nepal Ceramic Cooperatives Ltd and Chapacho Community Development Society began here on Monday. 26 persons took part in the training organised with a view to attracting the young generation to this profession. The function was held under the chairmanship of chairman of the society Chandra Krishna Prajapati.— RSS
Indian rupee appreciates
NEW DELHI: Indians, accustomed to having a currency that was a weakling on the world stage, now have an Indian rupee that is packing new punch. India’s currency leapt by nine per cent against the greenback in the financial year ending on March 31 — a record annual increase which was buoyed by the broad-based weakness of the dollar and a booming economy which has drawn a flood of foreign investment. The Indian rupee’s muscle is a novel event, leading Indian business magazine Businessworld reported. — AFP
