DCBL to

upgrade

KATHMANDU: Development Credit Bank Ltd (DCBL) — a B class bank — has got green signal from the Nepal Rastra Bank, the regulatory authority, to upgrade to ‘A’ class commercial bank. It has the paid up capital of Rs 1.1 billion at present but it will increase its paid up capital to Rs 2 billion by the end of fiscal year 2067, states a press release. It will be called Development Credit Bank Ltd after the upgradation. — HNS

KATHMANDU: Prime Life Insurance Company Ltd got the operating licence from Insurance Board (Beema Samiti), the regulatory authority of insurance sector, to conduct life insurance business in Nepal. Being promoted by Nepal’s leading and prominent business groups, the company will start operating from the first week of June, states a press release. — HNS

KATHMANDU: To give continuity to the contributions and economic aspirations of senior economist Dr Yadav Prasad Pant, a research and development academy has been established. Dr Yadav Prasad Pant Research and Development Academy, Nepal has an objective to expedite economic activities in rural areas by providing opportunities to marginalised group and indigenous community, states a press release.
