Yeti’s discount offer

KATHMANDU: As part of its continuous support toward social initiatives, Yeti Airlines has offered the INGOs, UN affiliated organisations and embassies discount on air fares in appreciation of their services to Nepal and Nepalis. “Yeti Airlines offers 20 per cent special discount ‘on condition’ to the employees of INGOs, UN affiliated organisations and embassies on fares, states a press release. The scheme is applicable only on Jet stream ‘J-41’ sectors that Kathmandu to and from, Bhadrapur, Biratnagar, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj and Pokhara and is valid till 30 September based on travel date. A copy of the ID Card of the employee must be attached with each discounted ticket, states the release. — HNS

India inflation rises

NEW DELHI: India’s inflation rate accelerated to a 42-month peak of 7.57 per cent, driven by higher food costs, dealing a fresh blow to the government. Annual inflation quickened more than two-tenths of a percentage point to touch 7.57 per cent for the week ended on April 19, up from 7.33 per cent a week earlier. Prices of rice, milk, tea, and vegetables all rose as did manufactured goods such as steel sheets used in construction. — AFP
