Gold price creeps up

KATHMANDU: Gold price in the local bullion market this week went up by Rs 125 per 10 gram against last week. The local bullion market opened with a price tag of yellow precious metal at Rs 15,175 per 10 gram on Sunday and increased to Rs 15,300 on Friday. Crude oil price in the international market rose this week due to the ongoing nuclear tension between Iran and the US, while the dollar continued to depreciate against major currencies resulting in the rise of gold price, according to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association. Gold price in the international market closed at a high of $663 per ounce on Friday. Likewise, the price of silver also rose to Rs 326 from Rs 324 per 10 gram on Sunday. —HNS
