Gold price drops

KATHMANDU: Gold price has dropped by Rs 40 per 10 gram in the local bullion market. Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (NEGOSIDA) has cited the fluctuation in petroleum prices as well as appreciation of US Dollars in the international markets as the reasons .Silver price also dropped marginally this week and closed at Rs 315.5 per 10 gram on Friday from the opening Rs 316. — HNS

EU, Russia sign deal

Berlin: Russia and the European Commission on Friday signed an agreement here that puts an end to threats from Moscow to ban all EU meat products following Romania and Bulgaria’s accession this month. The deal, reached in December, gives guarantees that Romania and Bulgaria are applying EU law. — AFP
