BIMSTEC meet starts :

Kathmandu: The meeting of BIMSTEC started in New Delhi to take stock of issues concerning respective member countries. The implementation is already delayed despite it being scheduled for the beginning of January 2006. The meeting would discuss six areas of economic cooperation for member countries such as trade and investment, technology, transportation and communication, energy, tourism, fisheries. According to a press release issued by the ministry of foreign affairs today, the ninth foreign ministers’ meet of BIMSTEC is to be held on August 9.—HNS
