Bullion price increases
Kathmandu, December 29:
Gold price in the domestic market increased by Rs 215 per 10 gram this week.
The precious yellow metal in the local bullion market closed at Rs 16,975, a rise of Rs 215 from the opening price of Rs 16,760 on Sunday.
On Monday and Tuesday the price of hallmark gold declined by Rs 40 and traded at Rs 16,720 but on Wednesday the price saw a rise by Rs 50 per 10 gram and was traded at Rs 16,770. On Thursday the price continued to rise and per 10 gram of hallmark gold was traded at Rs 16,940, a rise by Rs 170. On Friday, the last day of the trading, it was closed at Rs 16,975, a rise by Rs 30 from the closing on Thursday, according to Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association’s (NEGOSIDA) weekly report.
The increase in global oil prices that touched $97 per barrel and further weakening of dollar have pushed the price of gold up.
Similarly, in the international market also, the gold recorded $828 on the last day of the trading from $800 per ounce.
Meanwhile, silver price also saw a rise by Rs 6.50 per 10 gram this week. It was traded at Rs 308.50 per 10 gram on Sunday and Monday.
But on Tuesday it increased by Rs 2.50 to Rs 311 and on Wednesday again posted Rs 312, on Thursday to Rs 315 and finally it closed at Rs 315 on Friday, the last day of the trading.
