KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 29

The industrialists and businesspersons have brought the Prime Minister's attention to the 'dedicated' and 'trunk line' row.

A delegation of industrialists, including the Confederation of Nepalese Industry (CNI), met with PM Pushpa Kamal Dahal and requested him to take initiatives to resolve the problem.

During the discussion, a delegation led by CNI's Chairman, Rajesh Kumar Agrawal, urged PM Dahal to address the issues in accordance with legal provisions.

Recently, industrialists expressed dissatisfaction with the government's directive, leading to the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) cutting off power supply to industries that failed to clear tariffs.

Agrawal argued that industrialists were regularly paying the NEA as per the invoice and benefiting from incentives provided for timely payments in line with the invoice.

He also demanded that the government publicly disclose meter details of industries said to be running via dedicated feeder and trunk line during load shedding.

In response, PM Dahal emphasized seeking a positive solution, according to a press statement released by CNI.
