KATHMANDU: Cimex Inc, the authorised distributor of BYD in Nepal, unveiled its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, 'Building Dreams & Forest', on World Biodiversity Day.
This strategic campaign aims to restore and rejuvenate the Chakhandol Community Forest, which fell victim to illegal sand mining and deforestation in 2005, as per a press statement.
In collaboration with the Revolution Project, Cimex will spearhead the plantation of 1500 trees using the innovative Miyawaki technique. The initiative aligns with BYD's vision to 'Cool the Earth by One Degree' and showcases the company's unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and biodiversity conservation.
The Chakhandol Community Forest, once a thriving ecosystem teeming with diverse flora and fauna, has suffered greatly in the past.
However, through the 'Building Dreams & Forest' campaign, Cimex aims to revive the forest's former glory by reintroducing native tree species and creating a conducive environment for their growth.
