Kathmandu, August 17:

Officials of the Confederation of Nepalese Industries (CNI) held an interaction with Durga Prasad Bhattarai, the newly appointed ambassador of Nepal to Sri Lanka and discussed on host of issues on promotion of bilateral trade, investment and tourism. Noting that the situation of trade, investment and tourism is not satisfactory in the country, Binod Kumar Chaudhary, president of CNI urged for an active and effective economic diplomacy to attract more foreign investment. He also invited Sri Lankan professionals in insurance and banking industry, since Sri Lankans are renowned for management of banks and insurance companies. “There is a huge potential of direct flights between Nepal and Sri Lanka, especially targeting Buddhist pilgrims visiting Lumbini,” Chaudhary said.
