GULMI: Dairy farmers in over a dozen VDCs in Gulmi earned Rs 15 million last year through commercial milk production.

With support from the District Livestock Office, locals of Ruru, Thanapati, Bamgha, Baletaksar, Digam, Hunga, Gaindakot, Simichaur, Jaisichowk, Paundi Amrai, Arkhale and other VDCs have started selling milk by doing commercial animal farming.

The commercial milk farmers in the district earned over Rs 15 million last year by selling 403 metric tonnes of milk, said office chief Tulsi Ram Bhandari.

The office has set up six milk chilling centres in the district. Milk marketed by the farmers is being supplied from four dairies.
