With the slogan 'Green Energy Market Expansion', the Independent Power Producers' Association (IPPAN) is set to host the Eighth Power Summit 2023 here from March 28.

The two-day-long summit is expected to see over 800 participants, including 300 international delegates from more than 30 countries along with top officials of the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, power trading companies, power producers, financial institutions, transmission and distribution companies, consulting companies, vendors, think-tanks, among others.

According to IPPAN, the main objective of the summit is to pave the way for identifying and opening doors for Nepal's green energy market and at same time to strengthen commercial and business ties, sign many agreements for the development and market creation of electric energy, and will provide an opportunity to trade energy.

In the summit, various sessions will be held covering Nepal's electricity market, transmission infrastructure, Nepal's hydropower demand, technology and innovation, solar, hydrogen, regulatory bodies, international electricity trade, sustainable and climate-friendly development. Meanwhile, 5,000-megawatt projects (Project Bank) will be exhibited on behalf of the Nepal Investment Board and the private sector on environmental, social and good governance, regional cooperation and energy security issues. It will provide unique opportunity for investors who want to invest in the energy sector to get information about energy projects.
