FCAN to slap on warpaint today

Kathmandu, March 5:

The Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) is all set to launch its protest programme from tomorrow.

Releasing a press statement, FCAN voiced ire against the government decision to grant Rs 60 lakh to the consumer committee for construction works and complained that the government had turned a deaf ear to the genuine demands of the contractors even after assuring them that it would address their problems.

“More than three days have elapsed since we submitted our 45-point memorandum to Finance Minister Dr Baburam Bhattarai but there is no sign of any step being taken. As the government has failed to do anything about our problems, we will launch our protest programme from tommorrow,” said FCAN.
