FNCCI team to attend China-South Asia meet

KATHMANDU: A 10-member delegation of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) led by its Vice President (District Municipal) Kishore Pradhan left for China to participate in the 10th China-South Asia Business Forum meeting that is scheduled to commence from June 12 in Kunming of Yunnan Province of China. FNCCI has been regularly attending the meetings of China-South Asia Business Forum.

The delegation led by Pradhan comprises FNCCI Vice President (Commodity) Dinesh Shrestha; Industry Committee Chair Umesh Lal Shrestha; Trade Fair Committee Chair Keshav Raj Pandey; Chair of Industry Association-Jhapa Tika Raj Dhakal; Vice President of Chamber of Industries-Morang Mukesh Kumar Bhattarai; Chair of Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal Hem Rata Shakya; Associate Directors of FNCCI Bishnu Raj Dhakal and Arun Kumar Shrestha; and Executive Officer of Chamber of Industries-Morang Somnath Adhikari, according to FNCCI.

Meeting will be attended by private sector representatives of South Asian countries, China and representatives of People’s Government of Yunnan Province.

The meeting is hosted by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade, SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and People’s Government of Yunnan Province.

Representatives will discuss promotion of Silk Route Economic Belt — proposed by the China government — to accelerate the pace of business activities. The Nepali delegation, on the sidelines of the meeting, will also hold talks with government representatives of Yunnan Province regarding the post disaster needs of the country. Subsequently, the delegation will also discuss the investment potential in Nepal with private sector representatives.

Delegation is also scheduled to visit China-South Asia Exposition and China Kunming Import and Export Commodities Fair.
