GMG Airlines to fly to Kathmandu

Kathmandu, October 15:

GMG Airlines, the only private sector carrier of Bangladesh, has announced plans to operate three flights a week to Kathmandu, beginning October 22.

Organising a press meet held here today, Virendra Nautiyal, director commercial of international operations of GMG Airlines based in Dhaka announced the operation of flights to Kathmandu, thanks to the increasing movement of tourists to and fro from Bangladesh.

The airlines, which started its operations eight years ago and has already completed 3,092 days of operations. According to Nautiyal,, the flight days will be Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday. He also disclosed that the airlines have prepared a holiday package for Bangladeshi tourists coming to Nepal. Bangladesh is also emerging as a tourist destination, thanks to Buddhist monasteries and other places of interest, said Nautiyal adding that Nepal has a lot to offer too. He said that a majority of tourists to Bangladesh are Japanese that come to be about 20,000 annually, followed by American and European tourists.
