KATHMANDU, APRIL 10

Gold prices soared to a new all-time high in the domestic market on Thursday, making the yellow metal even more expensive for Nepali consumers.

The precious metal skyrocketed by Rs 5,700 per tola in a single day, reaching Rs 181,100 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

The gold market has been highly volatile in recent days. The previous record of Rs 180,300 per tola was set on Chaitra 21, but the price failed to hold steady at that level and dropped for four consecutive days. However, it bounced back on Wednesday with a gain of Rs 2,000 per tola, closing at Rs 175,400 per tola.

The upward trend extended to silver as well, with the white metal rising by Rs 65 per tola on Thursday to trade at Rs 1,900 per tola. Silver had closed at Rs 1,835 per tola on Wednesday, following a Rs 5 per tola increase from Tuesday.
