Both precious metals extend rally, becoming costlier for Nepali consumers

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 13

Gold price made fresh history in the domestic market on Tuesday, climbing by Rs 1,800 per tola to reach an all-time high of Rs 276,500 per tola, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

With the latest surge, gold has continued its record-breaking run, further tightening the pinch on Nepali consumers as prices cross new highs almost daily.

Silver price also registered a sharp increase, rising by Rs 145 per tola in a single day.

The Federation said silver is being traded at Rs 5,340 per tola on Tuesday, up from Rs 5,195 per tola on Monday, marking another historic peak in the domestic market.
