KATHMANDU, AUGUST 2

The gold price in Nepal reached a new high on Friday, approaching the Rs 150,000 mark. Fine gold is being traded at Rs 149,900 per tola, reflecting an increase of Rs 500 per tola from Thursday's price of Rs 149,400, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.

The last recorded high was on July 17, when gold was priced at Rs 149,800 per tola in the domestic market. Since then, the price had been decreasing, hitting a low of Rs 144,700 per tola on July 26. However, it gradually increased, reaching today's record-setting price.

In contrast, the silver price has decreased today. Silver, which was traded at Rs 1,800 per tola, has declined by Rs 5 per tola and is now being traded at Rs 1,795 per tola.
