The price of yellow metal increased, while silver price dipped slightly in the trading week between June 31 and August 6.

In the domestic market, gold price increased by Rs 1,000 per tola, while silver price dropped by Rs 10 a tola during the review week.

According to the rate list of Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers Association (FeNeGoSi- DA), gold price was fixed at Rs 95,800 a tola when the market opened for trading on Sunday and its price fell by Rs 400 a tola to be traded at Rs 95,400 per tola on Monday. The price of the precious yellow metal increased by Rs 200 on Tuesday but fell by Rs 300 on Wednesday. The price of precious yellow metal surged by Rs 800 a tola to Rs 96,100 a tola on Thursday before increasing by Rs 700 per tola on Friday to settle at Rs 96,800 a tola for the week.

Meanwhile, silver was traded at 1,230 per tola on Sunday and its price went down by Rs 10 a tola to be traded at Rs 1,220 per tola on Monday. Its price remained the same on Tuesday, as per the FeNeGoSi- DA. The price of the grey metal decreased by Rs 10 per tola on Wednesday to Rs 1,210 and remained the same on Thursday. On Friday, silver prices rose by Rs 10 per tola to rest at Rs 1,220 a tola for the week.

According to Reuters, gold prices extended losses to slide more than one per cent on Friday as an unexpectedly strong US jobs report eased recession worries and dashed speculation that the Federal Reserve would pivot away from its aggressive monetary policy tightening.

Spot gold fell 0.9 per cent to $1,775.09 per ounce by 1:43pm ET (1743 GMT), after falling as much as 1.5 per cent earlier in the day. US gold futures settled down 0.9 per cent at $1,791.2.
