Fine gold trades at Rs 295,100 per tola as prices near Rs 300,000 mark

Gold price in the domestic market surged sharply on Wednesday, rising by Rs 10,400 per tola in a single day to set a new all-time high, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association.
With the latest increase, fine gold is being traded at Rs 295,100 per tola, up from Rs 284,700 per tola on Tuesday, edging closer to the psychological threshold of Rs 300,000 per tola.
Silver price also climbed to a record high, increasing by Rs 40 per tola to reach Rs 5,920 per tola on Wednesday. Silver had been traded at Rs 5,880 per tola a day earlier, the federation said.
Precious metal prices have been on a steep upward trajectory in recent days in the Nepali market, reflecting a sustained rise in international gold and silver prices, traders said.
