KATHMANDU, APRIL 14

Following a period of rapid ascent, the price of gold experienced a sudden plunge of Rs 2,200 per tola in the domestic market on Sunday, marking the second day of the New Year 2081 BS.

Just the previous trading day on Friday, gold had soared to unprecedented heights, hitting Rs 139,000 per tola.

According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold is currently being traded at Rs 136,800 per tola in the Nepali market.

Similarly, tejabi gold has seen a decline in its value, now trading at Rs 136,150 per tola, down from its previous rate of Rs 138,350 per tola.

In line with this trend, the silver market, which had been shadowing the surge in gold prices, also experienced a drop from Rs 1,750 per tola to Rs 1,700 per tola, marking a significant decline of Rs 50 per tola and reverting back to its rate on Thursday.
