KATHMANDU, SEPTEMBER 27
The gold price in Nepal has reached a record high, crossing Rs 161,000 per tola after a gain of Rs 500 on Friday.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, the price of fine gold now stands at Rs 161,200 per tola, up from Rs 160,700 on Thursday.
The domestic gold price has been on a steady upward trend this month. On Ashoj 1, fine gold was priced at Rs 156,700 per tola, dropping slightly to Rs 156,400 on Ashoj 2. However, it has continued to rise, particularly following the US Federal Reserve's decision to lower interest rates, which has driven investors toward gold, increasing its demand worldwide.
While gold prices have surged, silver has remained stable. The price of silver has held at Rs 1,955 per tola since Wednesday, showing no significant movement despite gold's rapid climb.
