Gold price stable, silver declines

The price of gold remained constant over the trading week between February 10 and 15 while price of silver came down by Rs 10 per tola.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association (FeNeGoSiDA), the trading week began on Sunday with the price of gold fixed at Rs 62,100 per tola. However, the price of the yellow metal fell by Rs 100 a tola on Monday to Rs 62,000 per tola. On Tuesday, gold became cheaper by a further Rs 200 per tola to Rs 61,800 a tola. Price of the precious metal dropped by Rs 200 per tola to Rs 61,600 a tola on Wednesday. However, gold price increased by Rs 100 per tola the next day to settle at Rs 61,700 a tola. Gold further became dearer by Rs 400 a tola on Friday to close the week’s trading at Rs 62,100 per tola.
Meanwhile, the price of silver fell by Rs 10 per tola over the trading week. As per the federation, silver was traded at Rs 775 a tola on Sunday. Though silver price remained unchanged on Monday, it fell by five rupees per tola on Tuesday to close at Rs 770 a tola. Price of silver further dropped by five rupees a tola on Wednesday to settle at Rs 765 per tola. Silver price remained constant in the remaining days to close the week’s trading at Rs 765 per tola on Friday.
As per Reuters, gold jumped to a two-week high on Friday after weak US economic data boosted expectations the US Federal Reserve would hold pat on monetary tightening, while palladium matched an all-time high on a prolonged deficit.
