Gold and silver prices declined for the second consecutive day in the domestic market on Friday, extending the recent volatility in bullion prices.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association, fine gold fell by Rs 4,200 per tola to trade at Rs 291,000 per tola, down from Rs 295,200 per tola on Thursday.
Silver also dropped by Rs 270 per tola, settling at Rs 4,710 per tola, compared to Rs 4,980 per tola a day earlier.
Prices had surged sharply earlier in the week, with gold reaching Rs 304,700 per tola and silver Rs 5,600 per tola on Wednesday, before correcting in the following sessions. On Tuesday, gold was traded at Rs 290,300 per tola, while silver stood at Rs 5,335 per tola, reflecting continued market volatility.
Meanwhile, international media reports show gold trading at USD 4,828 per ounce in the global market on Friday, while silver was priced at USD 74 per ounce, trends that continue to influence domestic bullion prices.
