The precious metals lost their luster in the domestic market on Wednesday, with gold taking a steep plunge of Rs 1,200 per tola, while silver followed suit with a drop of Rs 30 per tola.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FeNeGoSiDA), the price of fine gold is currently quoted at Rs 116,500 per tola, marking a significant decrease from Tuesday's rate of Rs 117,700 per tola.
Similarly, tejabi gold is now valued at Rs 115,950 per tola, a notable contrast to yesterday's figure of Rs 117,150 per tola.
While the domestic market has been experiencing fluctuations and general devaluations in the yellow metal for weeks, this stands out as the steepest fall yet.
Gold had only lost a total of Rs 1,500 per tola over the course of the month in Magh. Meanwhile, gold had lost Rs 300 per tola on Tuesday, marking a decrease of total of Rs 1,500 per tola within just two days of the Falgun month.
In line with the trajectory of gold prices, silver also witnessed a decline of Rs 30 per tola, now being traded at Rs 1,365 per tola, compared to Rs 1,395 per tola on Wednesday.
