Up to INR 25,000 permitted for Nepali and Indian citizens
KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 16
The government has decided to allow the use of Indian currency notes of Rs 200 and Rs 500 denominations, permitting individuals to carry up to INR 25,000.
Government Spokesperson and Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel said the decision was taken at a Cabinet meeting on Monday.
The provision applies to Nepali and Indian citizens, and only notes issued after November 9, 2016 will be accepted.
