New property signals rising economic and tourism profile of Western Nepal

KATHMANDU, JANUARY 13

Hyatt Place Butwal has officially entered the hospitality market, becoming the first internationally branded five-star hotel in Butwal and marking a significant milestone in Western Nepal's tourism and business landscape.

The launch underscores Butwal's growing importance as an economic, industrial and connectivity hub, particularly following the operationalization of Gautam Buddha International Airport in nearby Bhairahawa, the company said.

The hotel recently hosted its grand opening event, "New Year's Eve Under the Stars," which drew business leaders, influencers and local residents, offering an early glimpse of Hyatt's global service standards and lifestyle-oriented hospitality.

General Manager Tushar Nagar said the response reflects rising demand for premium accommodation in the region. "With expanding industrial activity and improved international connectivity, Butwal is ready for international-standard hospitality," he said, adding that the hotel aims to serve business travelers, leisure guests and the region's growing trade ecosystem.

Strategically located at the junction of the Mahendra and Siddhartha highways, Butwal is rapidly evolving from a transit town into a commercial hub. Hyatt Place Butwal positions itself as a gateway for travelers to Lumbini, while also offering modern amenities including premium dining, fitness facilities and an outdoor swimming pool.

The opening is expected to redefine business and leisure hospitality standards in Western Nepal, the company added.
