Japanese grant for building cold storage

Kathmandu, November 20:

The government of Japan has decided to extend a grant of $86,230, equivalent to Nepali Rs 6,178,380, to Sindhuli Junar Development Association for the implementation of the project for construction of Sindhuli cold storage house for Junar (an indigenous kind of orange) under the grant assistance for grassroots human security projects scheme of the government of Japan in Japan’s fiscal year 2006, says a press statement issued by the embassy of Japan.

According to Japanese embassy, “The grant will be uti-lised for the construction of a multi-storey storage building with a capacity for storage of 250 metric tonnes for Junar, along with its electrification and procurement of cooling unit and essential equipment to run the facility.”
