Malaysia, Nepal discuss trade

Kathmandu, March 1:

Malaysian ambassador to Nepal Mahinder Singh and chairman of the Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Chandiraj Dhakal hold a meeting here yesterday. They discussed various issues like prospects for the two countries to promote trade, investment and tourism and efforts that should be made at the government level and among private sectors.

On the occasion, Dhakal informed the ambassador that the federation is giving much focus on socio-economic development activities lately. “Malaysian investment and experience would be useful for developing hydropower, tourism, agriculture, service oriented industries in Nepal,” he said. He also underlined the need of an effective economic policy in attracting a large number of Malaysian tourists to visit Nepal and expanding the areas of foreign employment for Nepalis in Malaysia.
