Micromax Mobile to start sales in Nepal

KATHMANDU: When it was launched back in 1991, Micromax had made a humble beginning but today it prides itself in being the leader in wireless telecommunication.

After building a strong presence in the Indian market, Micromax is now progressively moving towards establishing its foothold in other international markets. Nepal is a promising arena for telecommunication as the consumer preferences and communication needs here are very similar to those in the Indian market.

The company has a range of basic handsets to Xtreme range high-end sophisticated mobile phones. Micromax mobile phones like Gravity, EzPad Q3, X2i, 3G Data Card and other innovative phones with the perfect blend of lifestyle and technology solutions will bring about a paradigm shift in communication.

Micromax has successfully launched mobile phones that meet the needs of a broad segment of customers. On an average the company sells 700,000 handsets every month with a monthly increment rate of more than 10 per cent. It is the third-largest mobile handset selling company in India. The company has a lot of “firsts” to its credit in regards to its versatile product portfolio. It was the first to introduce handsets with 30-days battery backup, handsets with dual SIM/dual standby, handsets switching networks (GSM-CDMA) using gravity sensors, aspirational Qwerty keypad handsets, operator branded 3G handsets and OMH CDMA Handsets.

Micromax has partnered with Network Solution (P) Ltd for sales and marketing of its product in Nepal. It will launch its product range by February.
