Nabil’s electronic payment gateway

KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank has launched the ‘Nabil Electronic Payment Gateway’ that will facilitate e-commerce transactions in 3D secure environment for the very first time in Nepal.

Nepali businesses can now sell their products/services online in a secure environment by accepting payment through Visa, MasterCard and UnionPay international cards issued in Nepal or abroad.

Inaugurating the service, Chiranjibi Nepal, governor of Nepal Rastra Bank, said, “This service is a milestone in our country for promoting digital banking to the next level which is in line with government of Nepal and Nepal Rastra Bank’s objective.”

Nabil Bank is a pioneering principal member of Visa International, MasterCard International and UnionPay International in Nepal and issues debit, pre-paid and credit cards and acquires card transactions through its ATM and point of sales network.

It has always been in the forefront in adopting new technology and introducing innovative products and services. In fiscal year 2016-17, Nabil Bank was successful in posting the highest profit in the industry at Rs 3.613 billion on a balance sheet size of Rs 140.33 billion with Return of Equity of 26.65 per cent and Earning Per Share of Rs 58.41.

The bank has declared 48 per cent (30 per cent bonus + 18 per cent cash) dividend for the year. Its AGM is scheduled for September 26.
