KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 16

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Bishnu Prasad Paudel, has affirmed that the country's economy is gradually improving as a result of the government's concerted efforts.

While congratulating and extending best wishes to the newly elected executive committee of the Nepalese Association of Financial Journalists (NAFIJ) on Monday, Finance Minister Paudel stated that the current economic indicators reflect a positive trajectory.

He highlighted that the government has been consistently working to address economic challenges by conducting thorough analyses. DPM Paudel credited the positive economic trends observed in recent times to the diligent efforts of the administration.

Emphasizing the expansion of capital expenditure alongside economic recovery, he noted that revenue collection in the first four months of the current fiscal year had increased by 17 percent compared to a mere three percent during the same period in the previous fiscal year.

The government, he explained, is focused on fostering an investment-friendly climate, attracting foreign investments, creating employment opportunities, and bolstering entrepreneurial confidence.

Meanwhile, NAFIJ President Menuka Karki underscored the importance of improving inter-governmental coordination and urged the government to prioritize an increase in capital expenditure.
