Kathmandu, January 26
A meeting held between members of Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) and Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA) has formed an eight-member task force on behalf of both the organisations to increase ticket sales as well as to attract foreign tourists into the country.
According to NAC, various issues related to gross fare, sales management, group fare, void ticket charge and flight information were discussed at the meeting. Also, a task force has been formed to increase the corporation's ticket sales and attract more foreign tourists, a press statement reads.
The eight-member task force consists of Janak Raj Kalakheti, director of commerce department of NAC, Umesh Paudel, director of finance department, Anil Ghimire, director of general services and asset management department, and Santosh Pandey, deputy director of the commercial department. SImilarly, Pramod Dahal, senior vice-president, along with Kumar Mani Thapaliya, general secretary, Raj Kumar Devkota, treasurer and Sawal Bhandari, a working committee member of NATTA, have been included in the task force. It has been said that the task force will solve the ticketing issues along with other existing problems seen at the corporation within the next 15 days.
On Monday, newly-appointed Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Sudan Kiranti, during an inspection of the corporation's headquarters, had given instructions to make the corporation's services agile and efficient as well as manage the corporation's ticket sales through online medium within a month.
