KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 29
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) closed higher today, adding 46.69 points to finish at 2,692.05, marking a positive day for investors across the market.
In addition to benchmark index, the Sensitive Index climbed by 1.76%, while the Float Index recorded a 1.84% gain.
Today's trading volume reached Rs. 6.13 billion, with 13.37 million shares exchanged over 68,614 transactions involving 319 scrips. The market's total capitalization now stands at an impressive Rs. 4.28 trillion.
Investor sentiment remained broadly optimistic, with 221 stocks advancing, while only 17 declined and five remained unchanged.
Several key sectors led the market's rally. Non-Life Insurance posted a significant 3.60% gain, the Banking sector advanced 1.60%, and the Development Bank Index surged 2.32%. The Hotels and Tourism sector increased by 2.77%, Hydropower stocks rose by 2.03%, and the Investment sector was up by 1.36%.
Among the top performers of the day, Saptakoshi Development Bank Ltd (SAPDBL), Sanima GIC Insurance Limited (SGIC), and Kutheli Bukhari Small Hydropower Limited (KBSH) each reached the maximum allowable gain of 10%.
