Life insurance sector leads broad market rally; market cap rises to Rs 4.365 trillion
KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 23
The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) benchmark index rose 39.92 points or 1.55 per cent to close at 2,600.22 points in Sunday's trading session.
The sensitive index tracking Class A stocks increased 1.73 per cent while the float index measuring actively traded shares climbed 1.74 per cent, reflecting strong investor participation across different market segments.
Among sectoral performers, life insurance led gains with a 2.55 per cent increase, followed by the investment sector at 2.03 per cent. The mutual fund sector recorded the sole loss, declining 0.23 per cent.
Of the 334 companies traded, 237 scrips advanced while 18 declined and 2 remained unchanged. Sagar Distillery Limited (SAGAR) was the only company to hit the upper circuit limit of 10 per cent.
Daily turnover reached Rs 6.28 billion as investors exchanged 13,381,926 units of shares across 76,028 transactions.
Total market capitalisation stood at Rs 4.365 trillion by the close of trading.
