KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 25

The Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE), the sole secondary market of the country, gained 87.63 points to close at 2,672.25 points, a 3.39 per cent increase, on Monday.

The benchmark index that had opened at 2588.75 points today showed explosive increase in comparison to just 27 points rise on the first trading day of the week.

Similarly, the sensitive index also rose to 504.58 points, denoting a 13.61 point or a 2.77 per cent increase. The float index also increase to 186.82 points registering a 6.20 point or a 3.43 per cent rise.

All the sub-indices saw the green today with life insurance index leading the pack of gainers with 537.92 point increase followed by Nonlife insurance index with 467.60 gain.

Today's market also saw a rise in daily turnover, with a total of 8,395,864 units of shares of altogether 229 companies were traded at Rs 4.038 billion, up from just Rs 2.773 billion on Sunday.

After the share transaction, market capitalisation stood at Rs 3.741 trillion.

Today, 183 scrips increased in value while three scrips declined and one remained unchanged.
