KATHMANDU: Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) has taken proactive steps to address passenger safety concerns related to luggage trolleys.
In response to frequent complaints about trolleys lacking brakes and causing accidents, the airport has acquired 500 new baggage trolleys for international arrivals. These newly acquired trolleys are now in operation and are expected to alleviate past passenger grievances.
TIA Chief Pratap Tiwari mentioned that repair parts for the existing trolleys will arrive within two weeks, allowing for prompt repairs and utilisation of these trolleys when the new ones are insufficient. Furthermore, Minister of Culture, Tourism, and Civil Aviation Sudan Kirati emphasised the need for swift repairs to the trolleys operated by IMS on the arrival side.
