NIC’s commitment
KATHMANDU: NIC Asia Bank has expressed its commitment to expand its banking services to every part of the country in a bid to increase people’s access to banking and financial services.
“We have been focusing on wider network and diverse services from the time of our establishment and will continue with the same spirit in future so that people can take maximum benefit of banking services,” Laxman Risal, chief executive officer of the bank, said while addressing a event that was organised to mark the 20th year of establishment of NIC Asia Bank.
He also said that the bank will focus on consumer satisfaction and widen its service network in the ongoing fiscal year 2017-18. As per Risal, the bank aims to increase the number of its branches to 200 by the end of this fiscal year.
Currently, NIC Asia has 119 branches across the country. Risal also informed that NIC Asia Bank has been making substantial progress in loan, deposit and profit. According to him, the bank witnessed deposit growth of 26 per cent in 2016-17 to Rs 85 billion compared to 2015-16 and increase in loan disbursement by 22 per cent to Rs 72.5 billion in the review period.
Likewise, it booked profit of Rs 1.48 billion in 2016-17 against Rs 1.07 billion profit in 2015-16, as per him.
