KATHMANDU: Nepal Mountaineering Association (NMA) has blamed its own executive committee for not functioning fairly and diligently.

NMA is looking to hold internal elections to ensure smooth and fair functioning of the organisation.

Members said the present working task force has not called for new memberships while the previous ad hoc committee distributed membership as per its interest.

They also called for forming a high level panel to probe into all kinds of irregularities.

NMA members said that funds were being laundered. They called for using funds for the benefit of mountaineers and alpine workers. Funds generated from mountains should be used to create an institution that supports mountaineers, they said.
