KATHMANDU: Lumbini General Insurance has provided annual scholarships of Rs 12,000 each to 10 students of Vishwa Shanti Buddhist School in Minbhavan, totalling Rs 120,000.

The company awarded the scholarships in memory of its founder president Himalaya Shumsher Rana, who passed away on February 5, on 12th day after his death.

For an hour, Buddhist religious leaders and monks recited Gunanusmriti and Paritran while discussing Rana's biography, his contributions, and praying for the eternal peace of the departed soul, as per a press statement.

The firm's Chairman Manohar Das Mull, Director Vishwaraj Regmi, former director Shankar Ghimire, Chief Executive NP Pradhan and other high officials were present.
