Stop extortion, say traders
Dhangadhi, August 22 :
Entrepreneurs and industrialists in Kailai district urged Maoists to stop their extortion campaign in the district.
At an interaction on ‘problems of entrepreneurs and industrialists, and its resolution’ organised by the Kailali Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on Monday, they said that industries and business of the region would come to halt if the Maoists continued their extortion campaign in the name of feeding and nourishing their fellow combatants.
The entrepreneurs said that the Maoists have been raising donations at the rate of about one per cent of income from local booksellers, five per cent from construction entrepreneurs, one per cent from drug retailers and others as per Maoists’ demand.
