Stress on cooperation among chambers
A Seminar on the topic “Development of Sistership between the Chambers” was concluded Friday in Ratnanagar. The seminar was organised on the joint auspices of Membership Service Strengthening Committee of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), Ratnanagar Chambers of Commerce and Industries and GTZ-PSPP/SEQUA Chamber Support Programme.
The seminar focused on how the members of the FNCCI could increase mutual cooperation and understanding among themselves in order to strengthening the country’s ‘chamber movement’. Also, the seminar sought ways to develop sistership between the comparatively backward district/city level Chambers of Commerce and Industries (CCIs).
Opening the seminar, acting chairman of the FNCCI, Binod Bahadur Shrestha said that the developing sistership between district CCIs would of great help to the CCIs and their members to expand their businesses.
Shrestha also informed that efforts have been made for the materialisation of the much demanded “Chamber Act”, which would help in the institutional development and strengthening of the member CCIs. He also urged the district and city level CCIs to send proposals to the FNCCI on any prospects for expansion of business and to inform about any difficulties.
On the occasion, former president and of FNCCI Anand Raj Mulmi insisted that though the Federation is helping the CCIs of the remote and underdeveloped districts, they should strive for independence. He reiterated the need for sistership between the CCIs in order to provide maximum services to their members.
During the seminar, chairman of FNCCI Membership Service Strengthening Committee Kishor Kumar Pradhan recommended sistership among the CCIs in order to enable them in economical and corporal terms.
Speaking on the occasion, Harihar Subedi, residential representative of GTZ-PSPP/SEQUA, also insisted on developing friendly and cooperative relations among the member CCIs.
In the program, participated by representatives from different district/city level CCIs, speakers threw light on the experiences of Ratnanagar, Kalaiya, Rautahat, Gorkha, Lekhnath, Bhaktapur, Narayangarh, Birgunj, Lalitpur and Makawanpur CCIs.
