Two-wheelers to get petrol from tomorrow

Kathmandu, December 6

Motorcyclists will get fuel from more than 160 fuel stations in Kathmandu Valley from December 8 to 14 based on the registration number of the two-wheelers.

Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has assigned different fuel stations to distribute fuel on different days  December 8, 10, 12 and 14  and the list of the fuel pumps has been published on NOC’s official website

According to NOC, motorcycles and scooters of lot 1 to 25 will get fuel on December 8 (Tuesday). Likewise, lot 26 to 40 will get fuel on December 10 (Thursday), lot 41 to 55 on December 12 (Saturday), and lot 56 and above on December 14 (Monday).

NOC is planning to distribute 800,000 litres of petrol in total to motorcycles and scooters on these four days and each motorcyclist will get four litres of petrol, according to Rabin Sharma, chief of NOC’s Thankot Depot.

NOC will distribute fuel to four-wheelers in the next phase. Due to congestion on the streets while distributing fuel, NOC has decided to distribute fuel to two-wheelers and four-wheelers in different phases. NOC will issue a notice for fuel distribution to four-wheelers by mid-December.

Department of Transport Management has said there are around 600,000 motorcycles and scooters in operation in the Valley. NOC last distributed fuel to private vehicles in the first week of November.
