Kathmandu, February 17:

CG Foods (Nepal) Pvt Ltd, a subsidiary of Chaudhary Group, has launched its leading brand Wai Wai noodles in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Wai Wai has become the first Nepali instant noodle to be launched in Saudi Arabia.

The launching ceremony, which was attended by government officials, representatives of the Nepali embassy, media and business houses, took place at the Al-Marhaba hotel, states a press release issued here today. Chaudhary Group has tied up with Savana Corporation, Riyadh for marketing Wai Wai noodles in Saudi Arabia.

Prakash Kumar Subedi, charge de affaires at the Nepali embassy said that the bilateral relations between Nepal and Saudi Arabia has not only remained as a labour exporting and importing country but has also raised hopes for exploring other areas of business with the launch of Wai Wai.

Speaking at the launching, Dipendra Bhatta, head of exports division at CG, laid out the company’s aggressive plans to promote Wai Wai in the region. Apart from Saudi Arabia, Wai Wai is exported to Oman, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, the UK and Canada.
