KATHMANDU: WordCamp Nepal 2015, a one-day event on WordPress, is being organised on November 21. WordPress is a popular, powerful, and open-source web development and content management platform that powers websites, blogs, e-commerce and more. According to one statistic, one out of five sites on the web are powered by WordPress. WordCamp is a unique event on WordPress conducted globally, organised and attended by the local WordPress communities. WordPress Nepal, the Nepali community of WordPress users and software developers organised the first WordCamp in Nepal, in 2012. Since then, the event has been held every year. WordCamp Nepal 2015 will be held at the Nepal Administrative Staff College, located in Jawalakhel, Lalitpur. There will be a dedicated hall for talks and panel discussions, while another hall will host hands-on workshops for developers. Some of the great workshops this year will guide participants through topics such as WordPress Theme Review, Theme Development, Plugin Ideas and Plugin Development. One of the highly awaited panel discussions will be on ‘WordPress for Career’, where WordPress professionals will share their experience on how to build a career on WordPress. Both national and international speakers will share their knowledge during the event.
