KATHMANDU, NOVEMBER 18

Nepal recorded 272 new coronavirus infections in last 24 hours, pushing the nationwide tally to 818,307, while the death toll climbed to 11,489 with six fatalities today.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 799,176 with 260 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 11,151 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,863 were PCR tests while 3,288 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,538,549 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 27 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests totals to 299.

The highest numbers of infections were recorded in the capital with 90 cases today, while Lalitpur s second in line with 25 cases and Jhapa third with 21 cases.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.7 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 7,642 against 7,636 a day before.

Currently, there are 98 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Globally, over 255 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 5.1 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 231 million people have recovered while more than 19 million cases are still active.
