KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 20

Nepal recorded 535 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, which pushed the nationwide tally to 807,052 while the death toll climbed to 11,318 with 13 daily fatalities.

Meanwhile, the total coronavirus recoveries stand at 784,155 with 758 discharges logged today.

As per the latest data provided by the health ministry, a total of 8,426 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours of which 7,02 were PCR tests while 1,404 were antigen tests. With this, a total of 4,343,640 PCR tests have been carried out till date.

Similarly, antigen tests have confirmed 127 positive cases in the past 24 hours. The total number of single-day infections from both the RT-PCR and antigen tests amount to 662.

As many as 192 infections surfaced in the capital while Lalitpur reported 35 cases, and Bhaktapur 23 cases today, shifting the valley's total 24-hour figure to 250.

Nepal's Covid-19 recovery rate stands at 97.1 %, while the fatality rate stands at 1.4%.

The country's active Covid-19 case count currently is 11,579.

Currently, there are 227 individuals in various quarantine facilities across Nepal.

Globally, over 242 million people have been infected by the novel coronavirus while 4.9 million people have lost their lives to the disease.

Likewise, over 219 million people have recovered while more than 17 million cases are still active.
