KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 10

A total of 596 new cases of COVID-19 have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Population.

The new cases were recorded from the 12,404 samples collected and tested in various laboratories across the country during the same period, the Ministry shared in its routine virtual press meet on Sunday.

Similarly, 871 people were recorded to have enjoyed full recovery from the flu-like infection in a day, taking the recovery caseload to 775,943 as of now. The recovery rate stands at 96.7 per cent.

The contagion claimed the lives of 10 people in the past 24 hours. With this, COVID-19 fatalities reach 11,231 till date. Currently, there are 15,024 active cases in the country. Among them, 13,859 have been receiving treatment in home isolation while 1,165 in institutional isolation.

A total of 322 COVID-19 patients are in ICU, 113 in ventilator support and 234 in quarantines, according to the update. Meanwhile 78,927 people were vaccinated against COVID-19 on Sunday alone.

Altogether 6,450,644 people have been fully vaccinated till date while 8,202,502 have received the first dose of the vaccine to date, informed the Ministry.
