Corporate orientation for KCM freshmen

The second phase was ‘Panel Interaction’ where students interacted with four eminent business professionals and industry leaders of the country — Joseph Silvanus, CEO, Standard Chartered Bank Nepal Limited; Yogendra Shakya, Chairman, Ace Group of Hotels; Satish Singh, Director, Max L’agence as well as Neelkantha Upreti, Director, KCM.

Silvanus motivated the students saying youth are absorbent like sponges and should absorb as much as they can. He said that setting a benchmark is of great importance to be successful in life. As head of an international bank, Silvanus mentioned that information is key and innovation is a must to survive in any industry. At the end, he advised students to think big and to think globally but act locally.

Similarly, Shakya talked about how marketing is either about convincing people or confusing them and mentioned that effective marketing can be done by means of storytelling, where customers feel an emotional connection with the brand that is being promoted.

Singh encouraged the students to have the biggest dream they can and to fulfil their dream through hard work.

Piyush Agrawal, a freshman shared that corporate orientation has broadened his horizons. “Meeting the KCM alumni, I got to know how we can make the most out of our four years at KCM and hearing along with interacting with the panellists elaborated the necessities to achieve personal development and professional excellence,” he mentioned.
